BOCKSTENSMANNEN I VARBERG *Hallands Museet* Varberg Länsmuseet.

Poles driven through bockstensmannens body & condition of his skeleton & clothing in 2010.
Bockstensmannen was held down by two poles. There was an oak pole going through the mans heart and a birch wood pole going through the middle of th back of bockstens man. The mans clothing found shows also a third hole where they tried to put yet another pole through the man. Since the mans body was found in a bog the conditions of weather and earth has turned his hair red and his skeleton copper with a brownish layer. When I saw bockstensmannen on display at the Swedish Museum in Varberg there seemed to be a bit of white near his pelvic bones and thigh. I however have no idea what could have caused that.

The farm Bocksten where the remains of bockstensmannen were found was built in the 1880's but, bockstensmannen is believed to have been murdered as you can read on page 1 of bockstensmannen found on the top of this page.
What is a bog *Not a blog but a bog. Read below about bogs and what type of land bockstensmannen was found in.
A bog is not to be confused with a blog as in my blogs or live journal entries as found above. A bog is also called a quagmire or mire. A bog is a wetland or part of the land that has gathered acidic peat and mosses with dead plant material type compounds. Bogs can easily be called wet lands. Bogs are often found in cold parts of the world like Siberia, Russia, Germany, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands and of course Sweden. Bockstensmannen was found in a bog in Halland County or Halland Providence as it would be called in Europe. Sweden has many bogs found and some have been found at times to have the remains of swedish and danish people from the past. Swedish Lands and Buildings date way back to medieval times. Some buildings and churches I have seen in sweden date back to the 1800 and even beyond. Read about Swedish History and Swedish Traditions with celebrations and holidays in sweden off our main page for my information about Nordic Life and Viking history ect via www.opps.se
Nyheter is news so swedish news would be sverige nyheter for Sweden News while Svenska is the Swedish Language which would be then Svenska nyheter also. Konst is art in sweden just some word translations. Konst is Swedish for art, Also some similar european languages would search Kunst as in art, Germany and The Netherlands would maybe search KONST FOTO or FOTOS ect.

They keep the body found or skeleton and hair on display in a glass closure at the Varberg Sweden Museum. The swedish museum asks that nobody takes photos or videos of bockstensmannen. Sadly when I was there we saw a lady doing a few flash photos. I think to keep his remains preserved and keep from fading the skeleton ect. there is a no camera rule ect. I of course did not take photos or videos of the mans remains. I find it sad and feel he should be laid to rest in peace for I would not wish my remains on display but, I was glad to have got to see the 2010 remake of what bockstensmannen was thought to look like. His skeleton and skull looked so fragile and small it gave me a very strong feeling of sorrow. I think our souls do not often remain where or body is found or lays so, for that I am glad. RIP BOCKSTENSMANNEN
