Truth about american medical and health care in the usa. True example of american health care. My mother is lucky to be alive. She had Social Security, Disability and Medicaid which is said to be health insurance to help people pay for medical treatments in the usa. Social Security Disability & Medicaid is like american health insurance companies in the way that it will not pay much for certain things. My mother has been fighting cancer and had an operation to have a large part of her colon removed from the cancer. The Medicaid and social security in america would not pay all medical costs. American disability & social security would not pay for the chemo and my mothers cancer treatment. Some of the medications and dye used to check her by doctors were not paid for as well. If not for being very lucky and having a very kind doctor treating her my mother would not have been able to have life saving treatments or even all tests needed. Many people in america die due to lack of medical treatment and medical care. The health industry for medical and dental is insane and causes death to many that are not rich. The kind and rich doctor treating my mother is doing this knowing he will not be able to get paid what he would have by some for saving her life. hundreds of thousands of dollars she has racked in bills over even way less than a years time. I did not yet mention that my mother had polio which seems many nurses and doctors in the usa are not even familiar with now days. My mother also seems to have torn her knee cap due to over use of it and now it is facing backwards. Like where you knee bends in front of you hers looks so painful and is. Hers bends the opposite way and none of the doctors have tried yet to help with it or see what is wrong. My mom has not hardly enough to live on since she lives in the usa they do not pay for doctor care or homes and food as they do in europe. If my mother were living in europe she would have been taken care of and not having to live in pain and unable to even walk with her crutches without great pain and difficulty. I hate american ways. I feel so very guilty for being in Europe where I do not have to worry about my life in such ways when my family has such a struggle to just keep living. |

Another example of American Health Care and European Health care. How Swedish Doctors and Swedish health care in Europe is so opposite of USA Doctors and USA Health Care. First Hand Experiences listed by me about me. I have been to a doctor in Europe now a few times already. There is no waiting time to make an appointment with doctors in europe even for just your yearly tests. In Europe Doctors cost next to nothing so even poor people could afford a doctor visit. Prescriptions are so cheap and prescriptions are sold in a store that is run by the swedish government so they do not raise the cost of medicine to make profit as stores and pharmacies in the usa do. I was not even charged for an office visit in Europe since I did not see a doctor and just had to get my pills or prescription filled with a european version of birth control. The Nurses in Europe are more like doctors in the usa in how they are trained and what they can do. In the usa nurses do not have to know so much and are not so helpful. The Nurse in Europe could write my prescription and help me free of charge. I have Polly Ovarian Cysts so for me to take birth control pills is very important. The swedish money vs usa money and cost was shocking. In Sweden people live longer than they do in america for many reasons and I am sure the medical care is one of them. When I last when to the doctor in the states they did all kinds of tests and charged me over 500.00 usd for just the tests and office visit ect. In the usa doctor visits for just a normal thing like getting pills would be about 250.00 minimum just for the doctor visit not counting pills. That would be in a very cheap american doctors office. not 250 Swedish Kronor but 250.00 US Dollars! The doctor visit in Europe was only about 15.00 US Dollars! That is amazing! 1 pack of even the most generic birth control pills or cheapest birth control pills in the usa costs more than12 packs of non cheap and non generic pills in europe. That is not counting the doctor visit. In going into the Swedish Doctors Offices and getting my prescription written out they did not even charge me for the visit and the prescription to be written out. Also in the states if you smoke and are over about 35 yrs you can not have birth control pills last time I went. In 2009 in a Swedish Doctor Office I was told if I smoke I can have a different kind of birth control pill given that does not hold the risk of blood clotting from smoking ect. Of course with ovarian cysts you have to take pills to keep it under control or it can become very bad ect. Oh and it was free in case I forgot to mention. The nurse said it was free because I did not see a doctor yet I was still in the office. Free wow! |

Of course I have a permit to live and work in Europe so I would be cared for if in an accident or hurt ect even if I am not rich. However anyone that would be hurt while visiting or in europe would not be turned away by doctors. If you need emergency care and have insurance or not here in ways they will save your life and help you with not charging millions of usd ect.
In the usa my so called car accident *more like attempted murder on me* did cost me a bit over 500,000.00 USD! yeah that is like buying 2 and a half houses like I used to have. That was for medical care due to the wreck as seen in the Missouri Serial Killer Article here. I am Hilary the girl that tried to help and was hurt by the serial killer. In europe that car accident would have cost only $100.00 and after that was paid in Sweden all follow up visits that year would have been free.
Dentist in the usa are a joke too in ways vs Dentists in Europe. God how can people in the usa live and be healthy even medical insurance that is bought does not always cover things. If you have not seen sicko by Michael Moore please see it. That is so true and it is even worse. Of course I think michael moore has to hold alot back of what he knows in ways or he could get into trouble. They let him speak out only so much I am sure.
European people are so beautiful in things that they do and ways that they think. Europeans work hard to help protect lands and animals. It is not legal to hit an animal in a car and leave it road side. The vets or animal hospitals here take in and care for hurt animals in the same ways European doctors take care of people. They would save a life to save the life not for money. Swedish Doctors and VETS do get paid for such things they do it out of kindness as their Swedish government pays wages for doctors in sweden. Too hard to explain to americans but it is how I feel it is right. If I could help or save a person or animal I would do everything in my power to help save a life. That is how it should be and how it is in Europe. People dont die because they can not afford medical care. Doctors do not charge the people hundreds of thousands of dollars for things as they do in the states. My *non accidental* car wreck and attempted murder upon me came with a bill of a bit over 500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousands US Dollars) and that is not counting all the separate charges for meds and x-rays with lab work ect. sorry it is just heavy and so cool here. It is too hard to explain it all. Just check out the view and crowd of people having a fun time with peaceful celebrations.
Update on my medical experiences with the Swedish Medical Care system. June 2009 updates... My pills given to me in the usa for my ovarian cysts seemed to go from the prescription given by my doctor prior to generic pills in the usa. Prior to getting to Europe the pills I was taken then were noticed to not work as they should have. In the past I have had cysts explode or erupt inside me which, I think is common? That was what my doctor in the states told me. Also what I didn't mention is the doctor in the usa took many very costly tests after finding things that she said made her think it could be problems for me. The doctor then wanted to send me elsewhere in the usa for further testing at more of a hospital than a clinic. I of course spent over 500.00 already that day for tests and to be seen so, I had to put it off. I did not have enough money to go for the tests my american doctor quoted me a rough price and details on. Prior to coming to europe I got a letter from the doctor office in the states telling me that just because they find things that seem they could be cancer does not mean I have cancer. Then the letter stated that they felt it was still a good idea that I go in for tests and have cervix biopsy to screen for cancer of the cervix ect. In the way the letter stated things it sounded more like they were trying to scare me but, then again I think they just wanted the money for tests. It is a bit over 1,000.00 usd for the cervix biopsy and test needed there. I am sure then this means by the time all testing was over it would be more than that for sure.
I have been taking pills here since my arrival to help with my cysts and it seemed they were not working as they should so, I made a simple phone call to the doctors office. The kind lady in Europe that gave me my prescription then sent me another prescription. The prescription from the European Medical center or office was here in just a few days!!! It was free! The call and prescription change was free. I then went to what is like a govt ran place to get the prescription *that is part of how and why they do not over charge for meds in europe. It is controlled in ways that there is no middle man or stores and insurance companies to take money for nothing in ways like there is in american health care industries ect.* and still paid so little for the new prescription. In Sweden I can get a years supply of pills for less than it would cost just for 2 months of american pills. Hey I can get a years worth of pills and see a doctor for testing's in sweden for still less than just the 2 month supply of american pills would cost. Now we will not mention the doctor bills in the usa for you see that above and figure it out eh.
with usd said at this time it was like 800.00 swedish kronor is equal to 100.00 usd! To see a doctor in Sweden for yearly tests to get pills it is so very cheap. Even if I got sick and hurt here it would be so cheap in costs where in the usa it would cost more than most people would make all their life if they became sick and needed and american doctor to help them.

The article here was wrote in 2009 and many things since have happened. For example every 2 years women in sweden get a monogram to check for breast cancer and changes or possible problems. A mammogram does not hurt and is more of an x-ray to see that there are no cysts or lumps and abnormal problems in the breast. A Mammogram is done to detect breast cancer or possible signs of cancer in the breasts that may form etc. In sweden women 40 years and older are sent letters with a day and time to get a mammogram every 2 years if there are no problems detected on the first one. American women will be wanting to move to sweden when they hear the prices for Mammogram's in Sweden eh. Grin. A mammogram in Sweden was less than 15.00 USD. Shocking eh. Yes I say Less than 15.00 USD not 150.00 USD Grin. Late 2009 I had what is very close to a free mammogram & it ended up ok with no signs of problems there.
